SLP, also a vendor on this forum, does not select all the parts. As far as I know, before ordering the SLP shortblock from Speed Inc, they mandate a phone conversation to make sure all the necessary parts are being ordered?

Also, the guy who had the SLP 402, found the problem and the motor appears to be running strong.
I did not know that Speed Inc sold SLP shortblocks. KJ@ SDPC(sponsor) ----> is selling LS2 402 shortblocks for $3995 with some pretty good parts, and with everything needed other than heads, cam + intake.

i am real happy with my 408, i think cubes do matter. here is a gtech screen shot from my truck with several diferent motors, seems to me the 408 is making the most power with the least boost/nitrous. http://www.neufamily.org/images/40815psisp.jpg keep in mind with the 408 i am smoking all 4 tires out of the hole and i was able to hook with the other set up's, with some traction and drop the extra weight and the 408 will be killing the 6.0.

the extra cubes made a huge diference in fun factor too. instant boost

The bigger the cubes, the more power you make with just the motor.

I'd just go small cubes and low compression and run some BOOST.

I'm hitting 19-21 psi right now.

I have made up my mind. I am going with the SLP 402. Hopefully, I will have the time to call Speed Inc this week. To pretend adding cubes would not ultimately enable more power down the road is just not logical. Besides, adding cool engine covers and running a more unique setup will be more fun for car shows. If you guys know any contacts at this place, or if you have any experience dealing with these guys, I sure would appreciate more input.

I've been using Speed Inc. for stuff for like five years. My car is there right now. They have been tuning my car and doing alot of the custom work on my car for the last two years. You are in good hands.

John,

That's great news. I just sent them an email to see if I could also arrange for them to do the tune? Thanks everyone for the info. . .

Could that have been a break-in procedure problem?
