Could be a tuning problem or possible air leaks. The elevation wouldn't affect it that much.

mmm...I just remember this:

Is an oil leak at the back of the intake close to the block (I think, not sure), here is a pic take it when I changed the clutch. The oil start to leaking about 2 days after the STS install and after a couple of really hard runs. May be a seal broken?

Can this be the cause the poor performance in my car?...I don’t have any idea about this problem.

Help please.

Sorry my English, saludos desde Mexico City

Even if you dont have any leaks, 5 psi at 5800 ft equates to about the same power you would make with 1-1.5 psi at sea level. So probably the car feels slower than it did pre turbo. Yes the spool is going be affected as well. You would need to crank the boost a lot higher to see any noticable gain.

For a second, I thought someone put a rear mount on a Cessna.

Altitude has a big effect on ANY engine, not just a turbo one.

how is your pcv system ran? maybe the oil is coming from the knock sensor orings under the intake. Looks exactly like how mine was when I blew mine, I didnt see a performance change but I would change them asap.

I second dynedta's comment. I blew oil out my knock sensor o-rings when I blew boost through my PCV. Does STS use a check valve? I'll bet your boosting your crank case.

he is not boosting the crank case. There is a check valve on the car so that at 1psi, it will shut the valve and not let the boost into the crank case. He is at 8000ft elevation in Mexico, so there will not be alot of tuning options. Alex, let me know if you want to try a different wastegate spring or boost controller. You will need the fmic before you turn it up.
