Default Duke drives to new radial benchmark?

After Jason McNeil blistered the car to 7's on slicks, the team changed to radials and the boss straped in at Florida this week.

So for those who question if Ronnie Duke can drive or not, or otherwise doubt his love of the sport, read on. After a foot brake launch, mild roll to a low 10 pass, the Duke throttled the bad black car to a black trackin', tail waggin' 8.56 at 163 mph (has anyone gone faster or quicker on radials? I'm don't think so, but am not sure.) The 8.56 pass was a handfull, black trackin' well down the track and wagging the tail in high gear. Duke weighs in at about 250....20% of that is ball weight. I would have lifted.

Chassis tuning was done and a couple more passes planned when a compenent failed that ended the team's TnT for the week.

The new car Duke will drive this year will get its first shakedown passes at the Spring Open in March.

So let's put that "why doesn't he drive" BS to bed and focus on the fun. Hope to see you all at the Spring Open in March.

Gary

So I wonder what all the haters are going to bitch about now?

I can't wait to see the car next week at the open house.

Congrats again to the Hardcore team and Ronnie for a wild ride.

I'm pretty sure Gary was talking about the fastest LS1 Drag Radial run. I don't think any of the other guys have had a long enough weekend at the track to concentrate on DRs an 8.xx pass yet.....

Not to mention your weight from swinging from them.
It's a neat accomplishment (MANY other faster D/R passes have been made though) I don't know it was possible to swing from your own nuts!
Maybe you should have other people make the Hardcore posts. The way you guys blow your own horn (not that your feats aren't impressive) only takes away from the credibility you guys are on here all the time trying to gain?
