Lightbulb Custom single Turbo dyno results inside

Well I finally got my car tuned last Friday night. Its a 95 LT1 bored to 355ci. Mildly ported stock heads and intake, 52mm tb, semi-agressive NA cam (I was told a stock cam would be better for my application and about another 40rwhp and 60 ft lbs of torque would be seen with a turbo cam) Auto trans, etc. All tuning was done on 92 octane pump gas, 9lbs of boost (the minimum possible) and the converter was unlocked. No dyno tricks.

Best run was 561 RWHP and 465 lbs of torque
Final tune was 554 RWHP and 460 lbs or torque with 11.2-11.7 air/fuel across the board.

The turbo set up consists of the following:

Turbo: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=817

Wastegate (the racegate): http://www.turboneticsinc.com/wastegates.html

Intercooler (the one for the Skyline: http://www.blitz-na.com/Blitz_Intercooler_LM.htm

BOV-Type H RFL: http://www.turboxs.com/BOV/bovproducts.shtml

Just thought I would share

Something is seriously wrong with your setup if you're only making 460 RWTQ from a mild LT1 with a hydro cam and a turbo.

Turbo is oversized for the car and is really not the best for my application, also it would be well over 500 (probably closer to 550) with the right cam.

I was disapointed in the torque to.

Gee, thanks for all the nice comments.

It was first built as an NA car, then the previous owner decided to put a custom turbo on it. I'll get a cam one of these days.

The turbo and intercooler were off a Skyline....did not pay retail.

What cam specs? What torque converter?

Sounds like you have a nice tweakable combo with room for even bigger numbers.

If you have good internals in that thing, get a turbo cam and turn the boost up. LT-1's will hold a lot of power. Fuel it , ture it and go!!

I don't have the cam numbers at my office, all I know is I'd be better off with a stock cam.

Its a Vig 3000 stall, they said I could see another 25-30 hp if I unlocked it but I didn't see any point in doing that.

I have forged pistons and Arp rod bolts, etc, however I have the stock rods and crank.

My fuel system is fine right now (Racetronix intank with boost-a-pump and Bosch 420 in line) but my 50 lbs injectors are maxed, I plan on getting 65's or 72's in the next few weeks.

I would love to crank up the boost, the turbo can make 32 lbs and I am only at 9 right now, but I am afraid the engine would go.

Unlocked = LOWER rwhp. Depending on how loose your converter is, you might easily see another 20-30rwhp just by locking the converter on the dyno. What version of Winpep is your dyno using, 6 or 7?

Post up the cam numbers when you get a chance.
