Those muti bends are the ticket for this project, 39 bucks click the link to see how many bends you can cut from those.
IF you bought 3 multi bends, you can get
6- 90deg bends
3- 45deg bends
3- 12-14in straights
in all 3 inch STAINLESS STEEL
9 bends plus 3 straights all for 120 bucks, plus you know what bends you are getting.

I can only show you guys where to get this stuff for cheap, you do the math.
if you look at the aluminum bends road race has the cheapest price i have found for those. $36 for a U compard to burns stainless cost of $90 something.
i picked up 3 of them, and with some other bends i go on ebay for $100 (basically another 2 U's) i should have enough.

SO you are thinking that you need 5 "U"s total to do the piping?

Smokin, 3 aluminum U bends @ 36 bucks each comes out to $108...plus you need some straights.....plus....

Why not spend the 120 on 3 multi bends and get the 3 U's(or 6 90's) 3 45s and 3 14in straights?? Its more than enough for a FMIC project...really, I did my FMIC with two of the multi bends from performance curve and had to buy another 90 deg mandrel bend here locally for 20 bucks to complete my FMIC thats in those pics I posted above. Burns stainless is too expensive, but road race is a good choice also if you don't want to cut all the bends yourself.

Bad thing about aluminum is that it has to be tig'ed and that's bucks for someone without a tig machine and the know how. SS can be mig'ed real nice by the hobbyist(sp?)

I now have aluminum on my outlet side for the shiny bling factor...was to lazy to polish up the stainless....and it saved some weight...about 1.5 pounds.
Found those on ebay for cheap too, I bought two 90 deg 3.0 aluminum bends for 15 each and a 3.5 90 deg for 25. You can find a lot of this stuff on the turbo section on ebay.
Hope this helps you future FMIC DYI'ers

i wanted alumium. I do have my own TIG so welding isnt a problem
i got some off of ebay but for the $100 i didnt get much, 4-90* or was it six, and 4-straights.
the U's were a tad cheaper once i figured it out, plus i needed one 180*

id say if you didnt need aluminum, then those other bends would work out.

I see, just want to let the other DYI'ers know that aluminum has to be tig'ed and that isn't cheap if you have to take em somewhere to have it done. A single tig weld here goes for 60 bucks a weld..not cheap a mig weld done at the same shop goes for 20 a weld. This is the main reason I bought my own mig welder

if there was a way to mark the pipes on how they needed to be welded and sent to me id TIG them at a good price, just to help my FI brothers out.

$60 a weld? Damn, I need to get TIG certified and move to New Mexico!

I would use aluminum over stainless for cold side piping. I'm going to switch to aluminum later this year and have a guy who can actually do the whole setup in carbon.

Man, you guys are awesome! IC piping looks great. Yummmm TURBOoooosss. Is Mig welding that hard to learn? I am thinking of picking one up before the summer to play.

I wish I would have used performance curve when I had my duals built. I may just pick of 4 bends now so I can finish them up.
