I wish I would have used performance curve when I had my duals built. I may just pick of 4 bends now so I can finish them up.
Blaster, to learning weld isn't hard at all. I had a friend come over and show me the basics and I was off and welding in a hurry. He had me do lil welding projects with different types of angles, welding tubes together e.t.c to make sure i'd know how to approach different angles and such. I have about 20 different "learning" projects in the garage Practice again and again and it becomes really easy in a hurry. But you have the right idea, pick up one and mess around with it and you will become pretty good in no time.
Muffler shops always have a ton of scrap in the dumpster to grab from to practice on.

do you guys use the gas? I know that you can mig with a certain wire without gas but heard that the welds are nicer with it.

What's a good Mig to pick up? I was looking at the Lincoln 175(something?). Don't remember if you could hook up the gas though.

You know this is just a thought. If you could fab up the piping and just have them tacked or very tightly taped, you could send them to us and we could tig weld them for you. You're probably better off just going some place local but we're here if you need us. And as always, at a price that's unbeatable

the IG in MIG stands for Inert Gas ... this is required to shield the arc and provide a stable weld pool ... you can buy a MIG welder for extremely cheap that used a "soft core" wire which has the flux inside the wire ... stay away from these types of welders ... you will be much better off with a gas shielded welder ...

And FYI, aluminum can be welded not only with TIG, but also MIG and oxyaceletylene gas ...

How about fabricated bends? We can do that, no problem
