Default Turbo For PSCA Limited Street

The rulebook for this class states the following:

'Turbo size is limited to a single 76 mm (turbo is measured from tip to tip on wheel)'

What would be the best turbo for this application? I called Precision and they were going to work on putting something custom together for me...but I am open to opinions

This turbo will be feeding a 403ci motor.

Thanks,

Nope, not limited to a T4 frame...at least it doesn't say so anywhere in the rule book

One of the things that they suggested was a large-frame T5 flanged Garrett housing...is that a cheater turbo?

More then likely PTE will build you a GT47-88 shaved down to a 76mm. If not the GT42 with the larger backside frame can be used, but its essentially a 76GTS with a larger flange on the exhaust side. I personally would go with a GT47-88 shaved or a Y2K series unit.

Yep, I am tossing around the idea. The car is pretty much legal for that class, all I need to do is extend the cage, and add a window net.

The class record is somewhere in the low 9s...and I think that my combo when dialed in should be able to go somewhere in the 8.80s or so (if I can get the weight out of the car)!

Yep, it should be interesting if I can get the car all together for it. Right now it is being dominated by mustangs with YSi Vortechs.

you would think... cept there is a little issue with traction... its called a 28x11.5 et street and no transbrake... I tune the LS record holder and drove it in vegas.. that car is capable of ALOT more, but not on that tire.. I have driven 28x10.5 et drag to mid 8s and a low 9sec car on those tires (5.5 inch of tread on the track at 150mph) is EXTREMELY scary..

I hear ya, but I think that I will be able to get the car to hook and go relatively straight. It will take some work, but I am sure that it will get there. I probably saw you out in Vegas, I was with my buddy in the blue notchback with the flames that was also running Limited Street. His day was over when the bolt for the blower crank brace snapped off in the blower.

I talked to them on the phone yesterday about a few things. I am going to give them another call today and see what they can do for me. I want to get the turbo ASAP so that it can be used for mock-up!
