Default Oil pressure problems solved!

I don't know how many of you have seen this before.

My oil pan gasket did not make a good seal around where the filter send and return area were, and oil was leaking back into the pan from there.

After some thought on it last night I came up with that, got a new gasket, put it on, torqued the pan back down, boom 60psi, hooked the turbos back up, 50-60 psi again, killed the motor and shut down shop. Its always a relief to fix a problem serious as low oil pressure, the good news is the motor had at least 20-30psi when it was leaking oil, and it only ran for a few seconds at a time a few times, so I really doubt there was any damage.

Yes, I will be sending you some tap and return pics for the FAQ and taking a lot more pictures later.

I just don't want people to see my gheto wiring right now, there are wires running all over the car while its in a "testing" on jack stands state, hell we even have a autometer oil press gauge mounted in the bay.

interesting, how low was your oil pressure before the fix. Caveman you should check this out before ripping your motor apart tomorrow.

glad you got it fixed man, and thanks for sharing all your fixes to problems that any one of us could run across. It might help later. I really don't think 20-30 psi for just a couple minutes would hurt anything btw...

Yes that sounds similar to my problem but my oil pressure was going down to 10-15psi at 1000rpm. My engine also had about 350- 400 runs on it over a 3 year period before the Vortech, so it would be good to do new berings and rings anyway.

I'd try tightening it up to see if that does anything, and then for the hell of it take it to NO Bull and blow it up there!

That won't fix it, the 2 holes through the gasket have kind of a oring like shape to them and if they are too compressed to the point where they are leaking, it won't hold from what I can tell.
