Looking for a good turbo kit.
Who makes kits? I know a guy in town who has a rear mounted turbo kit. His car slowed down. So please do not tell me about a rear mounted kit. I am looking for something to make at least 8 psi boost and max 10psi boost. I want it intercooled. It must work. I would prefor twins but a single will get the job done I guess. I just put headers on but I can loos them if needed. I do not run cats. Taging my car in New Mexico next month so cats are not a problem.

Just do a search on this forum on STS rear mounted kits and you will find tons of satisfied customers. If your buddy has a STS brand kit and his car slowed down;then there must be some major problems with his car. I've yet to see a STS powered car or truck slow down after installing a kit. I would not rule out a STS kit only because your buddy has problems. A well tuned kit will rip ***. Just my .02.

O and another thing. there must of been something wrong with the guys sts setup. Because the sts kit perform pretty good from what I see on here. Maybe the guy didn't have it tuned or something.

I would wait to see the HP Turbo kit. Those guys do some great work, as their website shows. I too am from the old school, which says you don't put a turbo in the rear, however some are happy with the results and I am happy for them. I fail to see the reasoning, but it works for them.
Also there is someone who is developing a new CAS style twin kit. You can read about it here in this forum, if you watch THIS THREAD. Might want to see what they come up with.

I did not mean to imply it was a STS kit. I have no idea who he got it from or what. I do know he is the laughing stock of the town. We have some turbo repair shops around here that do industrial turbos. He might have gotten it from one of those guys. I am pretty sure it was NOT from STS.
I would feel better about the turbo(s) being close to the heat source. I guess I am just old school about that. I will look into those web pages to see what I can find there. I just have never had any luck finding anything for a turbo kit on an LS1 by using Google search.
Thanks guys.

HP isn't that far from you. They're just one state over in NM. Take it to them and have them build something for you...much better option than buying a kit.

Here are so early pictures of the kit: http://forcedinductions.com/images/PTKLS1/
And here's some of the new pic's with pricing http://www.forcedinductions.com/GMkits3.htm
They make some badass kits! Their LT-1 kit, which is similar to the LS-1, just made 970 ++ hp to the wheels with the T-76 GST.
PTK would definalty be a choice to make some nasty power.
Later,
Dave

The PTK kits do not require removal of the A/C or any other major component. Also our pipes run through the crossmember, not under it so ground clearence is not an issue, nor lowering the vehicle.

how about phamspeeds kit? phamspeed.com/camaro.html i think he said somewhere that you can get whatever size turbo etc. you want and its a front mount. look for a guy on the forum named LT-7 or LT1-7 or something. i dont think its intercooled but im sure he'd be happy to work with you.
