Hmm, never sat and weighed the units. I can tell you the PTE88 is probably 15 lbs more.

One more question, in this thread anyway. Would a power glide be a better alternative then a turbo 400? I'll shut up for a little while now.

what would be better for you two or three gears?

also power glides are better for light cars, the heavy ones (over 3300lbs) would do better with a t400

Jose

How well would a pair of PTE-66s spool on say, a 402~427" motor? What kind of inducer size are we talking about? 66mm??

Nick, I think you'll need 1200 rwhp+ and check the compressor map for roughly 120 lb min of flow to do what you want to do. Wont happen with a regular T56 with less garunteed.

Prolly able to use th PTE-88 with a T400, or have to go with the Y2K with a 6 speed if it spools up quick for a large frame. Jose knows whats up. I get decent pricing on Innovative stuff I think

The fastest spooling large frame style turbo out there is going to be the Y2K. On a supra it spools almost 1000rpm sooner then the GT47-88 which is the basic direct competitor to that unit.

Thanks for the additional input guys. Jeff, I am getting the turbo through Chaos Performance but thanks for the offer. If something falls through I will keep you in mind.

Y2K hugh, will look into that for sure.

I have some more research to do with the air consumption charts and compressor maps and I'm sure I'll have questions when I'm all done. Thanks guys.
