Default Need a cam suggestion to compliment S/C...

Alright, this is the deal. I'm having a 3500 stall TC put in in a couple of weeks. I may want to do a cam at the same time, but I'm not supercharged yet. I really want to be charged in the next year or two, gotta save my pennies. In the meantime, I also want to be cammed.

1) I'd like a s/c cam that would make a good daily driver (low idle, good driveability, all around good street manners).

2) What kind of gains can I make with the cam you recommend BEFORE the s/c goes in?

3) Will it be worth it to do the cam now? Should I just wait and do it all at once?

So far, my mods consist of Kook's LT's, 3" TD's, Lid, Nittos, and a TCI 3500 stall soon to come. My goals are to have a streetable setup. I don't need to make monster power, but after the s/c I want to whip on some bolt-on Cobras and C5 Z06s.

I've already been considering a TR 224/224 114 lsa even before I wanted to go S/C. I'm also open to the FM7 cam. That looks like a pretty good blower cam.

My biggest question is this: Will I still be satisfied with the FM7 cam even if I decide NOT to S/C? What kind of power can I expect N/A?

I've done countless searches and haven't really found much info a s/c cam on an NA car.

Thanks guys.

I always tell stock cubed guys to go with a 224/230 cam. .580/.590 on a 114 LSA. I believe the FM7 is around those specs..... you should pick up 30-40 HP tuned with that cam and down the road the blower will love it.

Might want to consider an 02+ Z06 cam or an LPE blower cam.

How's the gt2-3 cam?

From what I've read, it's a good blower cam, and a tune is not absolutely essential right away. That way, I can make some decent gains and wait until the s/c before I have to tune.

I'm really liking the FM7, but is the tune absolutely essential right away. I'm an A4, so should I expect some idle hunting and what not?

I put in a 224/228 115 in anticipation of running a supercharger. Did it at the same time as the v6 to v8 swap. That cam, TEA 1.5 unmilled heads, LS6 intake, MAC headers put down 392rwhp with the converter locked.
