Default Will chrome hold up on Hot Parts?

I want to do either chrome or Jet Hot on the hot parts of this CAS kit. Will chrome hold up?

Thanks in advance,
Tre

Chrome would probably hold for a little while, but would discolor pretty fast I would think. Jet-hot or similar would do really well when done inside and out.

I think if you Jet Hot the inside, you run a risk of it coming off and getting sucked into the turbo. I'll probably just do the outside.

thanks though. It would look sweet if it where chromed, I think I'll try to get in touch with a chromer and see what they think. I'll let eveyone know.

Chrome will heat up and flake off. Not good on turbines. Don't do it.

I sent chromemasters an email. Maybe they'll join here and help with some q's. I'm going to see what they think and pass it on.

Jet hot is doing a new more polished looking finish, I`ve seen some headers with this newer coating and it looks real good. You also get the benefit of the much cooler temps on all the surrounding parts. Just get it coated on the outside only.

they will discolor. Look on harleys and bikes like that with chrome pipes. They discolor and i doubt that their temp is any where near turbo heat. Good luck though

They will discolor, so will polished stainless I actually love the look of discoloration on exhaust pipes. Makes it look like it has some street miles

Looks like the inside of a clam shell and kind of like the chamelion cobras. I bet all the acid trippers would stare at your pipes for hours.

It will stay if you never turn the car on. But they turn bluish/purple color pretty quick.

Here is a picture of the JET-HOT Sterling coating on my intake pipe. It looks sort of like chrome except it's not smooth. I believe this coating holds up to 1200 degrees. The headers are coated with their black 2000+ degree coating.

The inside coating is important; it helps keep the heat from being absorb by the pipe. The outside coating then helps keep the heat that was absorb by the pipe from radiating out. I talked to hot jet about flakes and the turbo and they said it’s not a problem.

I see you're running an Electromotive setup
Good call!! We're an Electromotive dealer and I have a TEC3 on my street car. I'm really happy with it.
