finally working on my sts install
The hump hose you see will be replaced with a 45 so that will look and function much better as well as tuck into the splash guard nicely. I am really happy with how we got it to come up real quick after the K-member so that scrapage should not be an issue.
also notice how I made the spacers and raised the IC.
this allows the bottom of the bumper to tuck under nicely.
so much more to do but at least it's finally moving forward.

I'll have to remember that.On the other hand, not too sure if having the silicone at the lowest point is good though. (where that joint is under the k-member)

Nothing crazy for now. it's the GT67 turbo with .81 housing.
I will run 9psi max for now since the engine is stock. I upgraded to 60# injectors and also will be running the alky at "high" boost so I figure 9psi should be fairly safe with a good tune.
Anything over 500rwhp and I am happy.
Getting older and having a baby mellows out ones HP goals

More than likely the car will run at 5psi the majority of the time (stock engine, stock 10 bolt, and regular street tires) but it will be nice to know that 9psi will be the flip of a switch away in case something worthy of 9psi pulls up next to me

Can you tell I am a wuss about not wanting to break anything

I was going for the look to match the blowoff valve and I think it came out pretty close.
It should all look better when done. Poor car has 4 months of dust on it.
they have a red, blue, green, and yellow if I remember correctly.
i got it at my local kragen auto parts.
once everything is all setup I will remove the pipes and give them another coat to fix all the scratches I am putting in them
then coat with clear and hope they hold up ok. I've been running 10.5 psi intercooled with no alky on a stock motor for a few weeks now with no alky. The tune is VERY important for the life of your motor.

Zombie I tune my own car, it's been a FI car for the last 4 years and 40,000 miles so I definetly know how important tuning is
I am in Cali so all we get is 91 octane, no way am I going to run 9-10psi on 91 octane. I have the progressive alky kit from alky control that uses a 2bar MAP sensor for input and varies the alky flow. I plan to run a small splash of water/alky anytime I crank the boost up to 9 or above. I always error on the safe side. I have no problem leaving a few ponies on the table if it means I don't have to replace my engine.
Have any plans to dyno again on the 10psi? I would love to see what the numbers are.

I'm in Vegas, so we get your crappy communist kalifornia 91 crap too. I've only tested the tune in mid 60's weather, but it still hasn't seen more than 1 degree of knock for the most part. I'll usually get ZERO knock through a full 3rd and 4th pull. My 42lb injectors are maxxed out though and I won't go higher without alky. I'm pretty sure in the 50-60 degree weather we are having that I could do 12 psi, but thats probably the limit and would be very much on the edge.
I won't be dynoing on the 67 at 10 psi since i've upgraded to a t76 and I'll soon have my 60lb injectors and my progressive smc alky kit. I will probably be dynoing on 12psi 91 and alky though, at least while the weather is still cool. I probably won't be able to get away with anywhere near this when the temps are 112 degrees. When ever I know i'm going to be beating on the car I make sure I put good gas in.
Definetly keep me posted on how things work out.
1. NO DETONATION!!!
2. A safe a/f ratio, I'm tuning this setup to 11.2:1, 10.2:1 when I add the alky
3. A safe EGT (still need to install my gage), keep the temps 1500 or lower
I just hope I don't run into the head lifting issue. If it's ok at 12 psi, I'll bump it to 14 psi on some good gas and see what kinda power she makes before I put a new motor in. The car is data logged anytime I high boost, it won't tollerate much detonation at these levels.
