Default Using Belt Dressing w/Superchargers and Serpentines?

Any reason not to use a little bit of belt dressing from time to time on your 6/8-Rib Serpentines?

Might help with grip and conditioning of the belts, eh?
If you only use a little it's not that messy, right?

Would take 2 mins every couple of weeks..

Why do you need it? Nice numbers in your sig, car going about 135 or so?

Not slipping really.. Just thinking it could be a good maintenance thing.

Bought a can of STP belt dressing a long time ago before the blower was installed and came across it last night. Figured I'd check since I never see anyone talk about it. Put some on tonight. Might have given me an extra .5psi. Also is supposed to help keep the belt conditioned. Wasn't too messy. Sprayed with the belt running.

Numbers are getting good, thanks.
I am on the smallest cogged Vortech pulley (secondary cog) and am having ASP make another a bit smaller (+20rwhp?). Should be here next week. I saw 12.5psi tonight, should hit 14psi next week I think. This should Max out the T-Trim, considering 5% belt slippage. Hoping for +30rwhp from the Methanol also..

Track times.. Would be very happy with 135. I run R1 road racing slicks but won't be using drag radials or drag slicks ever. The problem is I don't have a roll cage so I'll get thrown off pretty quick with test runs in the low-11's.

Just bought a G-Tech Pro. Will take it to a local airport for practice. Might go to the track next month, but local track is kinda strict..

Vortech rates the T-Trim for 825 crank hp. 650rwhp+ could be problematic on pump gas.

The Methanol should add 3-4 points of Octane and cool the charge another 70*F.
The combined benefit is supposed to be the same as running 116 race fuel.

Yah I meant without meth.

If you can get 14psi with a spring tensioner that's pretty cool.

I have manual tensioner for my 21 psi setup.

My stock C5 tensioner is on the edge.
I added a crutch on 2 pulleys that were the weak spot of my current design by adding .25" tall flanges. Seems to help at high rpm or free rev/dyno belt slap.

I have a stronger Dayco truck tensioner in the box that came from a Magnuson Intercooled setup if I need to step up the tension higher than stock.

Do you have to adjust/re-tension the manual one very often?

Thanks.

Gonna use some once every week or two I think.
It's not that messy if you put it on right.
