Yes do both as you can see in my sig its worth it. Im real mean to mine and it holds up fine but make sure you have a good tune and plenty of octane.I run meth straight in my smc. There are plenty of others doing the same.

I don't think the Heads are worth it on stock bottom end. The pistons are weak and when u start passing 550rwhp you are pushing your luck. Heads might be worth 10-20rwhp more on a SC'd car which is not worth the extra cost. On the other hand, a cam will show u 40-60rwhp gain. I wouldnt do the heads unless u need the last few HP left in the engine(Above 700rwhp on a FI car). Just get a cam now and save your money for a forged bottom end which is around 1000-1500 more than a good flowing heads cost. And then you can get the power u want with boost which only cost the pulley $. Just my .02 . Good luck.
BOONE, How much timing did the SMC kit allow u to run?

Sorry its been a few days since i looked around on the forum. It is 23 degrees after 5400 rpm. Before that i cant remember. Its been awhile. It may have played a bigger role than i considered compared to the heads, you may be right.

When I had my powerdyne, I made 392 (dynojet) on my otherwise stock 2002. When I added heads, cams, and mac mids, I made 450 on a mustang dyno. You might be able to run less boost and make the same or better power.

I Make pretty good numbers now for a stock ls1..Just don't know if its worth the money to upgrade...Plan is to have a forged short block and run 14lbs of boost...just waiting on the new turbo kits coming out to see how they do..Cause if have the old 6-rib set-up and keeping 8lbs now is hard enough...Then if i do the heads/cam and blow something i have to pay someone to re-do it all as far as labor is concern...
