Default STS Theft......

So just out of curiosity has anyone had any issues or thought of theft on the STS kits? I agree that if a theif wants something hes gonna get it one way or another but shoot that just seems to out there and open. A simple sawzall and 60 seconds and someone has a 1200-1500 in parts in there hands. As a buisness owner i see and meet people that get things stolen all the time and people that come to me asking to make stuff more theft proof. i mean shoot ide be scared to go into walmart with that thing sitting under tha back of my car and people knowing about it.....

lets here your thoughts

Never thought about that, but you bring up a really good point.....all it would take is someone who knew about it, followed you.....

You are doing your shopping, or eating or whatever.......and you come out w/no more turbo......

I've almost wondered about that on the Camaro design since it is easily seen and accessed where it's mounted. I feel if they were going to steal something, it might be obvious that the whole vehicle is up for grabs as well, however, I wonder if there might be some sort of design to disguise the system while retaining its ideal way of using exterior air to keep the turbo cool.

Sorry just adding to the forethought mentioned above.

if somebody wants something bad enough to take it like that... there gonna take it. It doesnt matter where it is. Most people just take the whole car when they do that. Strip it and ditch the frame.

it is a little more vulnrable than your average turbo I guess but I really would not worry about it more so than anything else on the car. Some of the rims people run around on are worth way more than 1500.

When **** happens....**** happens
not much you can do about it

My only thought on this is if someone didn't think about it before you sure did give them a good idea! J/K

yes i definetly feel registration of STS owners is mandatory, this way we know what compitition we have in our area.

Seriously this is a good point, I would either weld the bolts up or hide it with a plate, of course many of you guys say if they want something they will get it, but if they don't know its there than hey won't want it. I use to place amp in my trunk until they got stolen from me, now they are hidden out of sight. About a year ago I had to install a new muffler in the parking lot of meijer store, and I sat under there pounding and screwing trying to mount the muffler, and even though people walked by I had no one stop to question me, nor was any security told, so it would be easy to steal in broad daylight.

My truck has a 5'' 7'' drop. If you don't have a super low race jack your burnt and I guess my three pits that have access to my garage help out. Only thing better than my turbo is my AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER.
