Default spring pressure for boost

How much spring pressure will I need with 20 psi and a .650 lift solid roller at 7200 rpm? I know that boosted engines like more spring pressure but how much more than N/A? I would assume that some of you guys have a similar setup...

Thanks

What kind of 650 lift solid roller are you running 20psi on?

I haven't run it yet...I'm still planning the build. The cam that comp and I specced is a solid roller with 242, 248@.050 and around .632 .650 lift that will see around 7200 rpm assuming the heads peak flow at around .650.

20 pounds per square inch boost and ... a 2" intake valve is 3.14 square inches

20*3.14 = 60 more pounds of force on the valve from the boost

add that on top of however many pounds you allready need to run that cam to the rpm you want...someting like that

Pi * R 2 = Area
3.141 * (1 ^ 2) = 3.141

I'm not SR, but we've spun my car up to 7100 a number of times on the dyno. You have to know what diameter spring you can fit and then go from there.

I have a supercharger.

You have to start with the cam and then look at what spring options you have. In my case I went to .100 longer valves early in the build to give me more spring options. My recent target was ~450/155 spring pressure.

236/246 duration cam.

I changed springs recently because I had valvetrain problems. Wouldn't make power past 6500 rpms.
