Smile Turbo Make/Model Recommendation

Hey friends, I'm looking at making a custom turbo setup for maybe 4-6psi boost for my LS1 6 speed car and my dad's 68 GTO (428 Pontiac), but need a recommendation for a certain size turbocharger to begin the project. I have heard numerous people say T3's are good for these engines for the $, but they seem awful small to me as the inlet/outlet are tiny. Give your opinions and recommendations! Thanks guys!

For the LS1 and GTO both you should use a T4 unit if running a single. You can get away with a large t3t4, but only in a twin setup.

My turbonetics 60-1 hi-fi turbos only have a 2.75" inlet and a 2" outlet. Super tiny! They a capable of 1200 hp. Look more at flow capabilities to figure out what will work for you. It's not the size of the turbo that matters it's how it moves your boat!

How many PSI would a 60-1 T4 with .60 A/R turbine housing, and 1.15 A/R compressor housing, oil cooled. Would I use a TiAL or could I use a HKS style 50mm wastegate with adjustable boost controlled springs, 7.8-19psi, along with a 50mm BOV with super load RFL? Let me know your opinions, as I am new to turbocharging, but seems like a cost effective, reliable system. I will only run about 9 psi with methanol/water injection and stg 2 6.0L heads. Let me know what you all think!

for only 4-6psi, I would say a T70 for quick spool. I would use an HKS wg but do not use an HKS "style" as this is the worst part of the turbo system you want to skimp on. Tial 44mm are very good budget wastegates.

spool up in a supra vs an ls1 car is going to be very different. A good steet turbo for a mkiv supra is the sp63 as it flows enough air to make good hp and it has pretty good spool. check out sound-performance.com for info on the turbo.

ya i know a T70 is going to spool up much quicker on a 5.7L than a 3.0L I was just wondering if there is any lag at all on a LS1. My buddy wants to use a MP T70 because it's cheap only like $700.
