Would it be worth it to change my exhaust from my jet hot lt's and a hooker y pipe and hooker catback to dual 3" pipes with 18's bullets in each of them and dump before the axle? Keep the LTs though.. Just wondering.. I also keep blowing out my collector gaskets. I bought aluminum ones and blew those out over time.. lol.

I run Kooks longtubes, Kooks 3.5/3.0 x pipe, and 3" duals with Magnaflow mufflers. It's worth some power vs a 3.00 y pipe setup of course.
I don't run bullets because they drive me crazy. I have in the past.

Bullets sounds like ***. They don't muffle much and were driving me crazy.
I have run xr1's, they are nice. I sold them and tried bullets, bad move. I ran some atr pit bull mufflers but blew the packing out of them on the dyno after a while.

I thought those XR1s were quiet.. I dont want it super loud either though.. Do you have a sound clip? I was just thinking straight duals instead of an X pipe though, just dump before the axle and some kind of mufflers tucked under the car..

XR1's were not loud, they had a really good sound. I sold mine and later regretted it.
I'm running Magnaflow mufflers right now and they sound good and the car dynos well.
Don't run bullets the car will sound like some ghetto lexan window bracket car from the track.

since you have an ls1 what would the sound difference be on my LT1? Which do you think are better, the XR1s or the magnaflows?? I want something to be loudish at idle and quiet when im cruising and fairly loud at WOT.. noise isnt much of a concern.. but I would like them to be a bit quiet and flow really well.. I dont think I can get both though.
