compression decrease to boost increase ratio?

Default compression decrease to boost increase ratio?

once you get beyond the "stage 1" 50-state-legal low boost kits that use stock internals and premium fuel, how much should you lower compression in order to increase boost while still running on pump gas? can anyone give me some sort of chart showing how much psi i can run at what compression with a non-intercooled Magnusson inlet forward supercharger? any suggestions would be considered and appreciated.

There are quite a few factors that will limit boost levels and CR.

Not only will you need to look at static CR but DCR as well, intercooled or water/alky injected, quench height, piston design, tune tune tune, spark.

You're really going to be limited with a non-intercooled setup....your best bet is to get it on the dyno, tune the hell out of it and monitor it very closely for knock. I'd keep the tune a little rich just to be on the safe side and look into an injection setup for cooling.

As far as a chart that will govern different types of applications, I don't believe there is one nor could there be since there are far too many variables to consider and each application will react differently to boost.

I have wondered the same thing. For example if you were to take a stock ls1 and swap the heads for the 6.0 L heads. How much more boost would it be possible to run.

The only thing I have found was a chart at ProCharger
