Default How hard to install myself?

Well guys, how hard would it be to install my TT kit myself? I am getting a new engine so the old one is coming out and being sold, would that make it easier? Anyways is there like a directions page or something for swapping an engine as well. Also I got the measurements so someone can help me indentify my turbos under the title M24 and M10 under the FI section of this forum

And don't be afraid to post here asking for help - someone is usually around that can answer questions if you get stuck.

if you can pull and drop in a motor you can install a turbo set up. I think the only nerve racking part to me will be drilling for the oil lines sence you will be pustting metal shavings in the oil pan and you have to get them out.

Yeah you can take it out from the top. I pulled it with the trany. Just pull all the accessories, radiator, intake and wiring attached to the back of the heads and block. Then you can just attach the chain from the back of one head to the front of the other. It helps to pull the hood and have a leveler on the cherry picker. Takes about 5-12 hours, depending on your help and wrenching skills.

you're absolutly right. have duct tape, zip-locks and a marker, mostly for bolts, the electrical stuff only goes one way. Also go here http://www.ls1howto.com/ and read up on the head and cam swap. If after reading this you feel comfortable with it, go for it!!

Also start watching Horsepower TV on SPike. They pulled an ls1 from the bottom and made it look easy as pie, of course everything always does on that show.

You can pull the motor from the bottom without a lift...unbolt the k-member/trans x-member/etc and drop the motor/trans down onto something that wheels. Use the hoist to raise up the front of the car and wheel the motor/trans out.

Pulling it from the bottom is really the easiest way to get it out...and to get it back in. It's also nice to see how things mock-up with the k-memeber and motor mounts bolted on.

I am just waiting until next week to start so I will have plenty of time to get everything out of the engine bay ready for the new engine I will be doing this over the next 3 weeks so hopefully I can make a race I said I could make for $1,500 against a 04 Cobra with a procharger on it, I don't knw what size, but I know he beat 8-71 blown 69 Camaro on slicks, the stang was on slicks as well. He told me that he didn't care what I put on it, nothing could smoke his car...he he he, Twin Turbos just might So I will need as much help as I can get guys, this is for the better of the F Body world

Default slicks

Yea I will try and find some, but as of now, I am on a really tight budget and I still need to buy stuff. He has been bragging to all of his friends how bad he is going to beat me, so I not only hope to beat him, I want to flat out EMBARASS the crap out of him.
