Default New BOV installed with ATI...

I got it put on the car finally, I have seen several post on where to install one with an ATI set up. I bought the aluminum pipe off Ebay for $8.00 and had it welded for $15.00. Thought some of you that are considering a BOV with your ATI might like this installation.

It is anoying but I think I can live with it, time will tell.

I thought the engine noise might drown it out a little Vs. mounting it under the car?

Take a short vid of it at cruise for us..... mine was on the other side of the car under the pass side front fender and i could still hear it loud as hell.

I was under the impression that you had to mount the BOV or BPV before the intercooler. Can't that cause problems? Looks good!! The chirping will bring harmony to near by birds....

That is the TIAL 50MM BOV..... the same one i had and sold because it chirped to damn much.... sold it and went with the vortech MONDO Bypass....
The loud wooshing noise is way better then the chirping. Oh and the Bypass/BOV should be before the IC so the charged air isnt stressing the IC all the time.... Thats the advise Harlan gave me.

Most people said the plenum was the best place to mount it, now im hearing it should have been before the IC?

Can anyone clear this up in a way that a newby could understand?

From what I understand > if you mount the BOV/bypass valve after the intercooler it will stress the intercooler. I'm sure someone can better describe the whole deal in a lot better detail. How much boost are you running?

I am not sure how exactly is "stresses" the intercooler... I heard that with the ATI kit, you always want to mount the bypass/BOV where the air is together(in the plenum or before the y-bend). Since the ATI kit splits the air into two, the compressed air that is going to leave through the valve will have to turn around or cross over through the plenum or through the y junction, causing a boatload of turbulance and ultimately losing the efficieny of the valve. I have my mounted on the passenger side of the plenum.

I understand the logic as far as optimal location but I dont see it causing problems. I would think there would be more turbulance in the plenum than in the location I chose? Im not bashing you in any way just trying to learn a little more. I wouldnt have posted this if I didnt want your oppinions.

The car was making a little over 13# on the stock lower end and cam @6000 RPMs, that is when we shut it down. It now has a new lower end and a blower grind due to two pistons giving out on the dyno. With the car now untuned I have not been able to see what it is making, It will get tuned again April 25th.

Thanks guys!
