Default MAF maxed @ 8psi

Is this possible. Built 383 with a t-76 STS. Tuner says MAF maxes out and it runs way lean after 5000. Car has twin in tank pumps, he says 48lb injectors, big front mount IC, 228/232 .588 .591 115lsa. Stock rails and lines.
Was told to go to a 2 bar MAP. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That is what PE is for. You need to crank up the fuel in the PE vs. RPM table. You have to basically tell the PCM to make it 8:1 to get it to 11:1. That's how we did it in the old days, at least.

absolutely possible.

you need to extend the maf table and then use PE as mentioned above to get the A/F in line.

I had the same problem until I added my intercooler. For some reason when it's unintercooled the maf does not read accurately. After ther intercooler the maf started reading normally again and would come nowhere near maxing out... yet

extending the maf table will get you about 3 more lbs/hr of air, and then yes use PE to make your AFR what you want, tune fairly rich also, since you wont have maf readings adjust fuel for you anymore.

I've had a few cars max the meter by 4000rpm.Really not a problem just use the PE table. Now if your tuner is ussing the MAF table to adjust fuel he'll have a problem.

You can also just take the 105kpa line in the VE table and make it rich enough to support you at higher boosts. Of course, you'll be running rich when you are really at 105kpa and anything less than full boost but over 105kpa, but it works.

Don't get me wrong, the 2 bar MAP is definitely the "way to go" but if other things like cost, etc. get in the way there *are* other methods.

Is it me or does 48lb injectors seem small for a 383 and T76 turbo

well when we were Dyno tuning my truck, the MAF was being maxed out at 10psi, so we backed it down to 9. From what he said, i didn't get the inclination that there was a way around it other than getting a new higher flowing maf, or changing the voltage.

I got the customers to pull the car out of that shop and put it in another where I know the tuner. The first shop could only get 508@ 8psi. Turns out they were not using corrected numbers. The other shop dyno'd the car w/o retuning and only got 425. After a retune and at the same boost, they are at 542/611 @ 8psi and still a little rich. Power is falling off a little early so we are changing turbine housings before a final tune.

Realquick, I was hoping they would go with 60lb injectors, but oh well. So far, there is plenty of fuel. I am taking a .9 bar sping with me tomorrow to see what the motor can really do.
