Honestly i would not pay that much for a kit that has been proven to not put out a lot of power. You're best bet, if you stick with a blower, is to go with a used procharger or vortech unit. If you didn't care what FI you used then a turbo setup would pack the most punch but would cost quite a bit (any FI is expensive if you do it correctly and safely). I recommend searching for a new or used kit that has some type of charge cooling and will be able to expand if you ever decide you want more power.

exactly what he said the powerdyne is a nice beginner FI setup that CANNOT be pushed past 6psi without belt problems, for that price I would hold out for a procharger, When I had my powerdyne I went through prolly 6-10 internal belts at 40 bux apiece plus downtime.

so search elsewhere unless he drops the price

I made 292 on a totally stock car and 450 with heads, mild cam, and headers. I liked it except for you have to change the serpentine belt every month or so or it starts slipping. Damn back side drive!

I wouldn't pay over $1500 for a kit. You will need to upgrade the fans, ditch the FMU, get bigger injectors, billet tensioner, and a bunch of other little stuff even with a new kit.

yes I agree with all above I had a powerdyne kit on my ls1 nothing but problems after 2 weeks broke the internal belt sent it back they fixed it about 2 months later, and in one day it was going again i then went with the sts turbo and its been awsome.for that price I would search for a procharger or vortech.the powerdyne head unit is vary unrelible.

interesting. had mine for 2 years. totally trouble free.

only issue I had was with cooling because you have to replace the stock fans.

I really liked mine, just grew out of it. ran 118mph in the 1/4 with it so it scooted along pretty well.

Id recommend nitrous or doing a H/C setup before messing with a Powerdyne its just a bad design.
