Default Need advice...Meint be out of the car scene

Hey everyone I need some advice,

I am posting this here because i now mostly ownly the forced induction people.

background is i am 19 full time student full time worker, i make about $2,200 a month. Right now my engine is blown, so i ws looking to buy an engine-4k turbo kit-5k fuel and suspension-2k tranny 2k, blah blah blah just expensive. Well long story short, i dont feel like paying out of the *** for a full year. Every check i get is basically already spoken for and that sucks. So i am thinking about gettting a stock engine back in my 99 ss and selling it for like 12k.

here are the options,
sell the SS for 12k,keep the 8k i have laying around and buy a 2002-2003 harley davidson f150 do full exhaust intake **** like that, also I get wholesale prices on pioneer and kicker, so Put about 2k in audio in it, i also get DEI so the pimp **** viper alarm in it.

keep the SS, bite the bullet and mod it heavy knowing it is all my money and continue working overtime weeks to pay for it.

i think that if i get the truck it would be good to a point because it would build credit, i could get a bike soon, and just have some money for myself to **** around with. Please give me some advice on what i should do because i think i am just getting myself in too deep. Thanks for anyhelp.

Nick

Personally, I would put a shortblock back in the SS, and get it tuned, drive it for a little while, don't fal out of the car scene, but just have a nice blower car to drive. Save up what you can, and mod the car stages at a time, fuelsystem, suspension, ect.

Your talking about not being able to afford a $12K SS LS1 car and modding it, but want to get into a 5.4 mod motor sohc./blower truck, dumping in system, intake, tune, ect. That is just going to be another money pit, with more money to go the same speed. It is not making much sense.

the blower is sold, I can afford the 12k ss with a blower and shortblock with ease, if i wanted another 500hp car it could be done real fast, but that is not what i intend on, I just do not want to have the, my car is maxed i need this this and this feeling. Thanks for your advice Ryan! I obviosuly needto think things out, but the draw outs make the f150 look cheaper and better for my main habbit, (waverunners) Thanks bro!

dude I'm 20, full time student I have a 03 tundra and a project 90 Cobra with a ls1 conversion going and I just bought a 94 honda civic to daily drive oh and I'm have a kid coming in july. I can tell you from experience that whatever you will get it will become a money pit. If you modded out the your car to the best you can and is tired of it. Your just gonna do the same to the harley truck. Think bout it. The main things you need to look at is what's ur goal with it. Each of those cars/truck has a purpose. Meaning you the driver intends to do something with it. Like my tundra it's just to use incase something happens to my dd or I need to tow/carry a load etc. Now my honda I drive everywhere and the mustang just a dragstrip car. I had to have all this just to make me happy, where I am. I use to be like you and just have one car, sucked big time. I would alway pray it would make it home every nite without having to be towed. Also your decision can go either way but looks like your leaning on the truck. If you thinking bout selling it, sell now not later. The value of the car is just gonna keep going down. Plus alot of people have problems selling it so you should try if your thinking bout it. Best of luck to you man.

why dont you just put a stock engine back in it and drive it like that, till your finished with school. Then build your car the way you want it.
that F150 will take alot of money and time too.

just enjoy your car the way it is for a while and then when you have the resources go nuts with it.
if you want to do a little bit at a time start with the drivetrain suspension and fuel system.
