Question Whats your thoughts on a Wiseco -36cc piston, horizontal gas ports, 1/2" head studs?

Talking over a new 410ci T80 turbo set up and then talked to a guy at Wiseco about a -36cc or it might of been a -38cc dish to get 8.7.1 compression with my 64cc LS6 heads. He said theres people making over 1000rwhp with -36cc pistons without problems. Wanted to see if anyone here was making some big power like I am looking for 850+rwhp with a -36cc piston?

horizontal gas ports...dont know much about them but was told for each piston with them its worth like 10hp or something? Is there a problem having them with this set up I might go with?

Is it necessary to go with 1/2 inch ARP head studs for what I am wanting to do?

TIA

normal ARP headstuds should work fine, go with a bigger turbo also.

I was looking @ ITS' 80mm the other day (tooling around their site), which flows compairable to a T88. I don't know what unit he's going with, but if it's that one, it's close.

Dish sounds fine. Go larger on the turbo. Nothing smaller than TV frame, or a pair of big T4 twins. You'll thank me later when it's nosing off at 5000 with the ITS turbo because the exhaust is being choked off.

Thanks
Shouldnt a T80 be able to support 1000rwhp? When you say go bigger is it because it will take less boost to get there or make more max hp?

Should I run gas ports or no?

You should go bigger because a T80 is too small of a turbo for a 410 inch motor. I tried to explain this several times. 410 inches pushes a crap load more exhaust flow than even a 346 inch motor does. This means you're going to be choked off on the exhaust side, which means high exhaust backpressure, poor resistance to detonation, and generally low power compared to a properly sized turbo. A T4 hot side is not properly sized for a 410 motor.
