Default Custom Turbo Setup-Oiling System

Im thinking of making a turbo kit myself and had a few questions about the oiling system. You obviously need a feed and return line to the turbo. I figure the return line can dump into the pan but Im unsure how the feed line gets oil to the turbo and what actually gets it there without a pump. Sorry for the incompetence and thanks for any help.

I believe you tap it off from the adapter directly above the oil filter. I know the STS uses a pump since it is farther away.

You tap into the block by the oil filter, engine oil pressure does the rest but make sure the turbo is high enough to drain downhill to the pan or you will have a smoke screen just like james bond

Use the Mocal oil pump. There are also Enginegear and Weldon pumps that work extremely well with the custom setup. Do a search.

Right, the pump is used to return the oil to the engine, not to feed the turbo ( scavenge pump ).
You can insert the return line just about anywhere. The Dodge STS runs the oil into the oil filler cap even.

If the turbos placement is above the pan directly just drain into the pan gravity will do the rest. If it is further away under the rear end, etc then you will need a return pump and you can return it back to the oil fill cap on the valve cover.

What is the prefered locale for return? I seen some about the middle (fore to aft) and abut an inch below the pan gasket area. Seems kind of odd place, but not sure. I want to tap mine and plug it until I Need to use it
