going from s/c to turbo...anyone???

going from s/c to turbo...anyone??? hey guys, ive been reading about all these new turbos coming out for our cars, and im leaning towards selling my vortech and getting a mild single turbo application, looking towards the phamspeed kit. ive searched and searched and found some great usefull info. i wanted to know if anybody around here took their s/c off for a turbo? for me the vortech is way too loud, and i don't see me going further upgrading it. with a turbo it (can) be quiet and i can raise the boost and even upgrade turbos. i was just wondering how many of u guys have done this, and how did it all turn out? i know taking my vortech off and putting a single turbo ain't gonna be cheap, but it may be worth it

sorry bro, ive been busy trying to sell my exhaust and some other misc. stuff, but i should be getting to the shop hopefully next week and getting a estimate on the damage to take the blower off, and ill let u know if your still instrested...PM me your number and we can talk

I sold my ATI D1-SC kit with a custom FMIC setup for my new setup........
My kit is s custom kit and i hope it really loud..... my SCX setup was loud also and i loved it....... ill have new pics to post within the next couple of weeks..... not finished yet.....

I'm contemplating the swap for the promise of more boost ,but I am finding it hard to justify as I am not getting beat very often and I am about ot put the smaller pulley on my Vortech. I definitly wouldn't wast my time with the STS set up though as I am doing better thatn most of the guys running those kits and most are not posting good et's. The Phamspeed kit is an option and the PTK kit is another one I am considering I like the TTI kit but I have to keep my A/C here in Texas so it is out because of that reason.

As for being loud, send your head unit in to get the quiet drive. All of the quiet drive S/C that I have heard from vortech you can't even tell there is a supercharger on the car.
Unless you are made of money and just want a turbo for the 'cool' factor, I would keep the supercharger. For a street/strip car you can easily accomplish the same power goals with a supercharger as you can with a turbo.
