Are those actually the spal twin setups? If so we move them all day long here at Griffin and they are great. The blades are rigid and dont deflect and the motors can operate at higher static pressure without problems like some manufactures.

Thanks for the reply.

I think these are the same as the Spal fans, but want to make double-sure before ordering so I thought I'd post. They're 4.25" deep which is what I read is a good fit...

Thanks for any advice guys.

Cheers,

Yep, that's them...

I'll prolly order them tomorrow.

Think this will allow me to run the A/C in summer traffic or is that pushing my luck ?

I had an "overheating episode" over Memorial Day weekend in 5 1/2 hrs of summer heat and bumper-to-bumper traffic. I have since re-routed the BPV to atmosphere instead of into the blower inlet, and am looking for a better fan setup to help the car stay cooler on cruises and such.

Thanks fellas !

Are these fans supposed to mount the same way as the ATI fan and shroud, using the 4 tabs? Also I hear the driver side fan needs to be ground down a little to clear the head unit. Let us know how it goes!

what I did was drill 2 holes in the top lip of the radiator and mounted them to that.
then on the bottom I literally took a metal yard stick, cut it to length then slide it in the tabs where the stock fans where and it ran accross the bottom of the spals holding them into place.

yes you will need to grind down a tiny section of the part that shrouds the blade on the drivers side.

you will also more than likely need to lift the radiator up out of it's mount and push it forward to make room for the fans. it's tight but they fit just fine.

30th, it will get you close but if you really wanted to be 100% sure I would add a smaller set of slims to the front of your AC condensor, hook em to a switch and kick them on when needed. 95% of the time you wont but you will be glad your not in traffic on a hot day with no AC that other 5% of the time

On the bottom you can also use a tranny cooler mounting kit. Thats what I did with my SPALs. All it is is zip tie looking dealios that go through the original SPAL bottom mounting holes with a washer.. push them through the radiator and condenser fins and then on the other side you put a tab that slides down and locks on. Theres even little spacers that go between the shroud and radiator that keep it from rubbing and damaging fins. I think it cost me like $8 from a local speed shop.

the only problem with that is then that fan is in there semi permanatley.

i unfortunately had a need to take the blower in and out a bunch and that wasn't gonna happen with the fans in there.

using the bar made it simple to remove them when needed.

just something to keep in mind.
