Props to Craig and Pete....
Pete's (Plan B) old 346 daily driver T-Trim Vortech motor got transplanted into Craig's (Craig Automatics) backhalfed Ute. The motor is basically a stock motor with rods and pistons. Its a 346 with a set of Eagle rods and Weisco piston. Stock Crank, etc... The heads are a homeported set of heads (stock valves), and the cam is a 244/244 110, 918 springs, and is a stock computer with a SD tune. Car is making ~800 RWHP and has over 18,000k’s. on the motor.
Craig's second pass in the car (a licensing pass) 8.9 @ 148.

I was about to say damn, that thing leaves hard for a street car till I saw it wasn't
What are rules like in terms of cages down there, I didn't see anything through the back windows!

Think of it as a long wheelbase GTO with a bed on the back. Basically an GTO El Camino. It would be no big deal for GM to bring the Ute over here as a El Camino.
This is not the 7 second Ute.
