Well, the 225 requires cutting to the piston. If you don't mind that the 225 will be the better choice. If not the 205 would be good to. You may want to check out some of the offerenings from ET Performance. New stuff comming out with thick decks, better flowing ports, and comparably priced.

For stock displacement I would stick with the 205's.

i was going to go with the 225's milled to 66cc, but the piston to valve clearnce was to close....even with flycut pistons and a cam somewhere around 232\236 .550\.550 lift. so maybe with 72cc 225's and a average sized cam may fit. you would want to do some extensive research on that

That's the first I've ever heard that ANYTHING other than Cometic gaskets is necessary to fit AFR225 72cc heads to a stock 346. Fact check? Anyone?

the gskt bore must be bigger. 4.125 (is that right?) gskt does not have to be cometic.
and i belive tony has said in several threads. cutting the pistons will be required...

Needs a 4.125 gasket. You will not need to cut the pistons unless you go real big on the cam and mill the heads alot.

I would DEFINITELY go with the 225.

Chrispy, good info. So I should be fine with 72cc (unmilled) 225's and a 224/224/114 cam on a stock bottom end, right?
