all I did was put a 160 thermo in it and adjust the fans to come on earlier per the hypertech website/instructions. had no issues and I was in Las Vegas and Texas.

DO a search on this..... The Origional Single Fan does not do a great job of keeping the motor cool.

I threw on custom fans... the fan that procharger sells is total garbage... Switched to two 10" fans in the front of the radiator... also upgraded to a 3 core radiator... fixed the problem very nicely!!! I have spent alot of time and money in investigating and finally fixing the problem..

Thats pretty sad, 5k for the ATI kit and you still need to make upgrades to have it work efficiently

Fans, Brackets, 8 rib, air inlet, and intercoolers are all common upgrades on a pro charger kit.

This is why I would only buy the headunit, and just build a kit, same price, good stuf.

Just finished my install. It appears ATI might be sending out a differant fan now compared to the past????

I went with a larger core radiator, SLP large core and a 160 stat and reprograming for the fan as well. I have had no problems yet with outside air temps of 90 deg and in town with a/c. Max temp 205, off of the incorrect factory gauge. Also using a fan over-ride switch for in town and traffic driving.

I don't see how ya'll have problems with this. I only had a 160 therm and the single fan, the settings were changed in the computer for it to come on earlier. Its not like I lived in the Northeast...Heck, the car was in Texas and Las Vegas and was a daily driver been driven in rush hour traffic and all.

I've had no problems. I have the 160* stat and reset the computer. It's not a daily driver but I do drive in the 90+ temps on the weekends with no problems.

Default overheating

Heres my solution. I live in houston so freezing weather is not a concern. I drained out as much coolant as possible replaced it with all water, did this a couple of times to get as much coolant out as possible I added a bottle of water wetter for corrosion resistance. Swiching to this from 50/50 dexcool and water dropped my temps from around 225+ to around 200. Coolant sucks water is far better at disapating heat. Running your car with little to no coolant won't hurt anything just get a bottle of water wetter for corosion and if your approaching freezing weather make sure to add some coolant. Doing this was enough for me If you want to further reduce temps switch to an slp radiator.
