EGT sensor placement I've read that some people say you should put the EGT sensor very close to the exhaust port on the head... but then someone also pointed out that only measures on cylinder, which is true... why not put it off of that evil no.7 cylinder? Because if there's going to be a weak link in your engine from a heat/detonation standpoint, wouldn't it make the most sense to keep an eye on that weak link???
I guess what I'm trying to say is that maybe the no. 7 cylinder is the only one you really need to watch because it'll likely be the first to go!

okay, what guages do you really need? i figured that a/f is crap and pointless. boost is a must. and my import friend said he always had a pyrometer. so i was thinking boost and pyrometer in an A-piller pod. would that cut it? or is there something else i should be checking on? I can always get a 3 gauge piller pod instead of a two.
