Yeah, we had left off the plastic piece and once it got that hot, it didn't want to come back down. Once the piece was back on, the temp came back down. I saw those temps again on the Power Tour but soon figured out that I pin holed the head gasket.

The fun of forced induction.. At least you found the problem.

I use Red Bull in my radiator instead of antifreeze. The lightly carbonated drink helps cool the engine temps.

I hate these threads, I think people get dumber just reading them.

Spraying your IC with ANYTHING while racing is proven to be pointless. I personally know some very fast guys who are experts with tuning and they tried it and found no advantage. Did it drop the intake charge temps? Slightly, although trying to keep the CO2 out of the air inlet is tricky going 100+ mph. Spraying nitrous will prevent the slowdown CO2 will cause, but aside from wasting nitrous you also have the chance of ingesting enough nitrous to hurt something.

Trust me here people, if you want to drop intake air temps get an alky system or spray the nitrous right into the motor like Unit213 said. Those spray bars are ricer crap, and some IC manufacturers have voiced concern about possible ic damage from the rapid temp drop. I think the only thing they are good for is to impress other ricers.

Are you serious about that or just trying to be a ricer.

I subtly used mine when my opponent was walking past my car, and his leg froze solid and shattered. I won because he forfeited the race. Very cool.

I remember seeing a CO2 system somewhere that sprayed, no joke, sideways at the competitor... the idea being that you'd starve his motor for O2. Swear to God.

isnt co2 different than nitrous?? i thought we werre talking about spraying c02 over the front of the intercooler to lower IATs when under boost? wouldnt this work no problem?

it works fine for cooling the intercooler, but as soon as you stop spraying the intercooler temps will go back up!

also there is nothing to stop your engine from breathing in the CO2. this is bad as we all know what CO2 does to a fire dont we??????

i have also heard that most of the gains the the guys using n2o where getting was form the N2O getting into the intake. this cant be proven though.

and have you seen how small these things are???? they hardly cover ANY of the intercooler!

if you want a very tried and tested means of cooling the intercool a little bit more, then go for a water spray system. race proven for years by the rally guys and the truck racing comunity, but no good at the track!

Chris.
