Boost brainiacs........got a question
If you have 93 octane in the tank for instance and you have the boost turned way down for daily driving, then you want to turn the boost up for more power, what happens when you do that with the 93 octane thats in the tank?
I assume there is just a limit to how high the boost can be turned up because of the octane.
So, what if a stand-alone tank were used with race gas in it so when you turned up the boost and nailed the pedal for a race it would be used to inject race gas into the intake.
Is there a system out there that does that or not?
Banks turbo told me that the boost on their engines, the 800, 1200 and 1600 hp twin turbo DART engines can literally be turned up and down to produce full boost (35psi) and as low as nothing and basically drive around on an all motor engine. Only problem I see with that is the octane problem.
With an injection system like a direct port nitrous system has, would that solve the problem with running around on 93 octane octane????
