Default maxing out a D-1SC

i have a D-1SC head unit from an old setup with a mustang. i'm building a 360 ci or 383 ci LS6 motor now...solid roller, 7,000+RPM...is the D-1SC capable of delivering 18-22 PSI effeciently or is that to much to ask of it? i've heard that this particular head unit is capable of supporting up to 1200 RWHP and i don't think i'll get up in that area...~900-1000 is my goal. anyone with any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i think you might wanna go with an f1 if your looking to make that much power. thats all ive seen making it over 800 or so. i think the D1 is good for 7-800, but someone can correct me if they know any better.

Def. a F-series territory. Also gonna need a pretty trick belt setup to keep from slipping belt problems.

i figured the F-1 might be a better choice, but i already had the D-1 so i thought i would ask just for good measure.

i was planning on utilizing a motor plate so the belt setup can be custom fabbed...it's still in the planning stages as of yet but it should materialize pretty quickly once i decide what to do for the FI portion

D-1 is only good for 925 flywheel horsepower. F-1 is good for 1050.

Yep just like they said..... D-1 is to small..... gunna need to step up to the F-1...........................

Hell, if your changing superchargers and want to keep it 'close' to the same size go with an F1R.

The D1 will be too small for your goals. Good to between 7-800 RWHP maxed (depends on your static compression though).

If you are doing a custom belt setup Scott with SDCE has alot of experience with ATI D1R's (much bigger than F1.....aka 1500 HP) and is very good with belting a supercharger to stick. Keeping a belt on this thing is probably going to be one of your biggest hurdles.

hmmm, well i called procharger today and got the info from them abuot getting an F1...they reffered me to HardCore for a belt setup but i think i'll call Scott with SDCE based on what i've see on here the last few days. thanks for the info guys. it's much appreciated
