The point of the larger combustion chambers is to lower the static compression to prevent detonation, period. The point of a forced induction engine is to use positive manifold pressure to achieve higher power levels, not higher static compression numbers. The point is, with the stock LS1 heads at 10.1:1 CR, you have less flexibility in the amount of boost to run, and less flexibility with the tuning. Lower your CR, tune with a safe A/F ratio, and run different boost levels depending on what you need and when you need it.
