This is about the best breakdown I can give

Motor - $3350
Heads, studs and gaskets - $1600
Valvetrain - $750
Turbonetics T-76 Q trim .96AR Exhaust Housing - $1600
Stainless Works Turbo piping - $1850
Large Front Mount Intercooler - $350
Tial 50mm BOV - $240
Tial 40mm Wastegate - $350
Boost Controller - $500
Fuel (injectors, rails, line, pumps…) - $1200
Drivetrain - $3300
Computer/Tuning - $900
Suspension - $1800
Fittings and misc. items - $500

....and I'm still not quite finished. I received some extremely good deals on many of the above items. The above doesn't include the cost for tires and safety equipment... and this is my daily driver. I can definately see 20k..

Holy Hell this thread grew fast.

I'm all up for it, so post away. I'm not asking this for my car, but rather a friend's. I just want him to be aware of all the little things he's going to need. Fire away.

EDIT: I see several of you have already done that. Thanks! He's planning on keeping his motor stock and running lower boost. I just wanted to see how much extras he's going to be looking at as far as tuning, fuel systems, piping, intercoolers, BOVs, controllers, etc.

Thanks for all of your help!

I have a decent spreadsheet of mine if anyone interested wants to see what it takes to build a half-decent motor/car.

I think it depends on your target power level

A turbo kit running 8#'s on a stock motor can live a long time if you dont beat the **** out of it

Phamspeed budget kit
bigger injectors
intank or inline fuel pump
Clutch (if six speed)
valvesprings/hardened pushrods
Cutout
Tuning
FP and boost gauges

If you are running a street tire or DR and dont race all the time then it wouldnt be too expensive and it would last a long time if you tuned it right.
