Default Cant seem to hold a blower belt!!

I have a 2000 camaro with a P1sc and cant get the damn thing to hold a blower belt! All the pulleys and the idler are lined up perfect. The belt has good tension, the belt will hold a minimal amount of boost(3-5 LBS)anymore throttle than that and it just snaps. I have gone thru 4 Gates belts in two days. Antone have any clue or info that might help?

Idler pulley bearings locking up maybe? New install or was it OK and it just started doing it?

I locked up the bearings in it a few months ago and thru the belt with the serpentine. I also bent the blower bracket with it. I had replaced the bracket and the idler from ATI.
I had just got the car going again 3 days ago and can't seem to get it to hold a belt now. Before the bearings locked up the car didnt have a problem holding a belt, but does now. I am all out of ideas. I took a straight edge and made sure everything was lined up, and went with ATI's Instructions for belt tension. When i snapped the 1st belt after the new Pulley etc. I backed off on the tension thinking that was the prob. I ended up snapping that belt too.

It takes a lot to break a belt, something is way off or locking up. Make sure the crank pulley didnt loosen up also. Might want to try running the belt a little looser and see what happens.

Yesterday after the 3rd belt I checked the torque specs on the crank and they were at spec. I will try to run it looser and see what happens.

how are you determining things are lined up perfectly?

if your eyeballing it, it's probably not lined up.

I had the same probelm last year but it was with a cog setup. Since switching back over to a 10 rib I have not broken a blet. We could never figure mine out but it had to be in the alignment or in the tension. Also one thing that helped a ton was making a spring loaded tensioner instead of the stock ones.

I put a straight edge to the pulleys, they are lined up perfect.

I switched my tensioner to the one from K tech about a year ago.
