Default BOV recommendations?

Can anyone recomend a BOV, and a place to get it?

The quieter the better for me. My motto is "Why advertise?".

Engine is getting built right now. Should be 8.2:1 or so. I'll be maxing out the smaller Incon turbos, so I looking at about 600rw.

If you want loud, then look no further then the Turbosmart Megasonic. One of my local customers came by this past weekend and took me for a ride in his 383, GT45 powered Chevy II. The megasonic was AWESOME. Lets put it this way. I have dual Tial 50's on my personal car and am pulling them off. I have megasonics on the way....hehe .

As far as BOV design, function, and placement, what's the best route to go? I'm kinda with Mark C on this, the quieter the better. Does it make sense to route the dump back into the intake track for the turbo like a procharger setup, or no?

Jose, I have a question. Does the PTK kit Bov to atmosphere or does it return to the intake track?? and would it really matter for a automatic car? Right now my system has a return but what fun is that?

If you want quiet. Get a BOV ( or more than one ) that re-circulates back into the intake. Depending on intake design there may still be some noise though ( ie an open K+N filter will still allow noise out, whereas a sealed airbox should be virtually silent. )

My Tial 50 is loud as hell, flutters constantly under cruising and sounds like someone opened a blow off valve on an air compressor when I let off from a full throttle pass. If you can stand the constant fluttering when cruising then the Tial is a good peice. With the ATI supplied bypass valve on my car the compressor was being pressurized and leaking oil, the Tial fixed the problem.

Here is a picture of my set up...

i dont think ill have a fluttering sound as i am having it put in with a turbo.

do you have any sound clips of it? im curious as to what it will sound like.

With a turbo setup, is there any advantage to ricirculating it, or is it better to just dump it to the atm.

Really doesn't matter, as long as whatever engine management system you're running isn't adversely affected. If you run a MAF, you'll want to put the BOV prior to the MAF. Otherwise the only real difference is noise.

Gotcha. So, with a bypass vs a blowoff, with making boost quicker between shifts with a 6spd car on a turbo make that much of a differnce? I know the bypass doesn't really evac all the air in the system and a bov recirced wouldn't really do the same (on a stock style blow through MAF that is). I'm just trying to learn the ins and outs of the two, I still don't really get it.
