didn't cost me to much, fuel system was the most expencive part, unless you count the engine rebuild, since the stock lt1 wouldn't hold the amount of boost that the t70 would put out, it says 4.2 bar is the max output of the turbo, but I don't know what I hit, my gauge only goes to 30 psi, (I was runing 6 psi then the waste gate snapped shut and wow) that and it only held it for a second, then smoke and steam everywhere. But even with the complete rebuild and turbo kit I am only into it about 3k. The engine took up most of that too.

My homemade kit is going to finish running me ~$3400 for a homemade job. I have had access to a machine shop though and do all my own labor (assy, welding, etc.). I expect someone else that doesnt have access to a machine shop to spend~$3700 or so. I also bought my turbo used PT76 Q trim for $950 with only a couple thousand miles on it.

You could buy either a PTK kit (probably best on the market for LT1's), TTi street kit, or sts kit. Thats it for us LT1's that I know of. A PTK kit with a T70 will run you $5400 or so.

The engine, a forged short block will run you $3400-3600 (doesnt matter whether its a 355 or 383). You want heads too? thats another $2k. Cam, lifters, timing chain, etc. Lets call it $7000 for engine...

Tranny, if you have an auto, your screwed. That thing will blow up! The manual may last for awhile, but you need a clutch (Mcleod street twin seems to be best for LT1's). Thats ~$1000 with steel flywheel.

Fuel system? Aleast an intank 255 with BAP and large injectors (60's or higher). Your looking at ~$800

So, for a PTK kit, engine, tranny, fuel system are around...$14,200. I havent even talked about a rearend either...~$2400.

I have to agree with most of what your saying. I got a lot of money in my setup also.

Although, I say for the fuel pump situation, just get the racetronix dual intake 255 setup. I haven't priced it out yet, but I really only need the wiring because I have the two pumps and Y-block already.

I was giving him a cheap alternative that would support support 600-700rwhp. If I had the extra cash I would dish out the $5xx for the dual intank setup...
