Default Alternator Bracket for Phamspeed.

Does anyone know where I can get an alternator relocation bracket. The one I have is not working, and thats the last thing i need to finish my phamspeed install. Thanks.

You can try the plates from Stainless Works. You'd need to add spacers, regular ol' water pipe from Home Depot works like a champ

Ran into the same problem here, my phamspeed bracket didn't work at all. I had to brainstorm with sscam68 here on the board and we came up with another bracket that does work.

No numbers for me yet, waiting on a paycheck or two so I can run some better fuel lines from the tank to the rails...

Here you go,
The stud with the yellow paint on it is where my bracket and pham's GZM bracket differs. I have to hand it to John for coming up with an simple but effective bracket....but his bracket put the alternator too low. The belt would rub on the thermostat housing and the bolt holes for the alternator were way off too.

We kept the design of the bracket almost the same but the alternator was clocked an inch to 1.5 and inch higher than pham had it. This brought the belt off the thermostat housing. The stud with the yellow paint would have been an inch lower with phams bracket.

My uncle brought over a ton of braces off of rebuilds he has done and one of em fit perfect. That is the bracket that goes from the head to the back of the alternator...a lil ingenuity with threaded rod, nuts and standoffs and POW all secure. This bracket doesn't flex at all.

Thanks sscam68 for helping me out and for providing the SS and tig welding for this bracket.

When I was putting things in different arrangements building my bracket, I found a great location that put the belt on the thermostat too. I like the bracket I ended up with, quick and simple to build, solid as all getout, and it help hide wires The belt length is a little critical because of where the tensioner is located though. It would be better if the tensioner were closer to the alt pulley, so the tensioner took up more slack for distance moved.

Brian,
When it comes time for my turbo install I may end up contracting you for a bracket. Looks great.

I used the bracket that John sent with the kit. I had to use some washers to pull it off the engine some so that it doesnt rub on the t-stat housing. I think that the hypertech housing is smaller on taht side adn that is how he used it so taht it fits with out rtubbing. GL man

the turbo tech alt bracket is also close to the thermostat.
looks like it even slightly rub on it from the discoloration on it.
might trim some material off the thermostat.

Hey, what tensioner pulley is that?? looks a little bigger than my pulley, just curious because I may be looking for a change. My belt needs more tension and the next smaller belt is too small for my setup

That tensioner was from my ol powerdyne s/c'er days when I was fooling with smaller s/c pulleys for the PD(big nono for the weak lil powerdyne) and had go to a bigger tensioner pulley for that set up....lil did I know i'd be reusing it for the turbo
I went to NAPA and asked to see their A/C parts book and went from there....takes a lil "convincing" to get the punks behind the counter to let you see the books, but after you tell em what its going on...they'll toss the book to you. They have a TON of tensioner pulleys to chose from, 8 rib, 6 rib, smooth. I just threw this on for now to get some better tension and wrap on the belt.
Sorry I don't have the PN as this was a while back when I made the purchase, but great eye
