How much timing for stock power?
To have the certificate (IF you get it) it will cost several thousands of $.
So better risk a litte and find out a way to reduce power at the right moment.
Or another relatively cheap option.
Add water injection. And lots of it.
In small quanitities, it may have its benefits. But I imagine in LARGE quantities, it would dampen things quite a bit, and should be harmless to the engine.
Yeah, but too much and you'll hydrolock the motor. That too is also not cool and a couple thou easy too.
Add some electonic cut outs or flapper valves (ala speed boat) to the exhaust for when you by by the po-pos. I'd seriously investigate the electric clutch since no abnormal sound means no abnormal suspision, ie blower whine.
I guess the swiss authorities want you to buy nothing but volvos and sabbs.

owie, you win the
: contest hands down.
When will people learn that electomobiles are no more polution reducers than petro powered since you still have to make the electricity to charge them.
So they have to show some kind of "nature-protecting political program".
Of course they don't tell about how produce power to split water into O2 + H2!
To produce this power is not the worst thing: to carry liquid H2 from the production plant to the gas stations needs so much energy that everything is just a big waste of time. At the end it need as much energy as using gas.
NOTE: I'm talking about hydrogen engines because the new technology is to carry this gas and convert it in electric power in a electrochemical cell.
The worst of all is that we castrate ourselves with gas taxes (we pay about $4.80 a gallon), power limitation and so on thinking to save some kind of climate disaster.
But nobody says that we are like a fly on the butt of an elefant, and whatever we do is -on a global scale- absolutely nothing.
As said: it's all (and only) about politics.
-----
Today I reprogrammed the PCM to set 0 timing advance when I switch the "no power button". It's perfect!!! The engine is still running but feels like my old 5.0L 1991 Firebird. Asleep!
I think I'll keep it like that: just an electronic trick and I'll let the piping as it is.

I think most people around here used to pull spark plug wires...but you can't do that while driving.
Very cool !
