AEM has been talking about making an LS1 application for about three years, are they waiting for the LS3 to come out?

I bet the AEM won't be cheaper than BS3. Meaney puts out a great product.

You can pickup an AEM for Mustangs, RX7's, Supras, and even NSX's for around 1400-1500.

Last time I tracked the AEM possibility, the LS1 project was behind the Mustang, Viper and I think a Toyota. So you guys can flap your gums all you want but the BS3 works great and they have awesome customer service. I'm just pointing it out.

3-4 years ago I was interested in the AEM for LS1's ... Now, I could care less if they ever release it.. Doesn't seem like they're very "together" over there. They have a pretty nice box, that's pretty universal, but it doesn't seem they answer inquries with anything but "when we get around to it." If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'm going with BS3 where I can get answers in 15 minutes. Until I spend that kind of money, I'll keep using a DIY-style MegaSquirt

I've only heard good things about the BS3. Where can you download the bs3 manuals and software? I'd like to look it over.

The AEM system is sold to be more of a plug and play system that installs without modification. It's sold as a EMS that works with the factory harness and wiring. I'd say that's probably the largest reason it has taken awhile for it to be available for such a wide variety of cars. If you check out their forum, there is tons of support and technical help. They do offer a "race" setup where you build your own harness etc, but i believe that's only been available as of recently.

BS3 looks like a pretty powerful computer. Looks like itll do most everything you would need. I have an AEM hardwired into my car. Probably have about 20-30 hrs in installation and set up. I've had good luck with them before. I didnt do a lot of research on the BS3, but AEM has some nice features built in to it such as the traction control, anti-lag, 2-step, nitrous control, internal datalogger, 3-d or 2-d mapping, you can even program it for a manual so itll know what gear youre in. Setting it up was a PITA since there was no plugnplay, but it was worth it. FWIW, i paid $850 for my box. $385 for the w/b with gauge, and $30 for the pin kit.
