Turbo FAQ -Overlap Error-

I just read the FAQ on turbos and went to the ForcedInductions.com web sight and I was woundering has anyone ever noticed that the section called Overlap has an error in their calculations?

yeah its true, he never multiplied by 2 it seems. I never paid attention since my cam always came out to -8 when I DID multiply by 2

EightballTTA hit it right on the botton. I just hope that no one has had a cam ground to these specs because then they would definitely have to much negative valve overlap.

The equation is correct just the math and example shown are incorrect. This could be a bad thing if a guy looks at the duration and lift and says to himself that this would work with my set up and then never actually does the math to find out that he's gone way wrong with his setup.

I was on there also and saw that..... do any of you guys know if advance ground into a cam plays with it also..... like how to you compute it..... like say my old SC cam. a 230/236 114+4??

If I'm right, it should have no effect on the equation, since the time the valve events occur is not a factor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please...

Sorry guys for the error....after writing that page I didn't proof read it very well I guess. Looks like I need to take a spelling/typing class as well...lol. I will try to correct it this weekend. We just have been slammed this week and now we are working with Australian customers which are 14 hours ahead of us... its driving me
