OC = on center. The exhaust enters the housing on it's center line vs in a tangent line. Supposedly tangenital housings are better. I don't think it matters though except for fitment.

On-center flows about 4%-10% less air through the scroll then a Tang V housing. Typically to match the sizing of a Tang V, you need to work a 10% margin in on the A/R. On-centers are only good for turbo placement in comparison to a tangV. Also you backpressure is about ~3-5% more due to the tight turn the air has to make when initially entering the housing.

The GT42 is a tangential housing from what I read on Garretts website.
The GT series doesn't use the on center housing due to its lack of flow.

A real 42 either has a BIG hot side(T6) or a large T4. Both are divided dual scroll housings, smallest you can get in a T4 from Garrett is a 1.01 A/R, next up is a 1.15. The T6 starts at 1.15 A/R.

The Garrett comp housing is physically large compared to a standard T-series housing, 5 inch anti-surge versus standard 4 inch inlet.

Overall, the garrett pieces are just physically larger. But stuffing the 76 wheel into a normal comp housing and using a smaller non-garrett turbine housing lets the 76GTS be overall smaller dimensionally.

yea me too... 103* temps and a birthday Kazoo of a turbo don't exactly make for phenominal numbers.

Once the shipment arrives here they will be out the door. Including you guys. PTE has been slow and I appologize for the long wait times. We are working to get some units stocked on the shelf, but they keep selling faster then we can get them. I promise by the next few months I will try to have a bit of everything laying around for quick turn arounds. Its just right now its full blown in the middle of race season and people are breaking parts and upgrading to go faster.

Thats what I said a few posts back, the GT42 is physically larger than a T76 and the T76 can be "packaged" better than the huge GT42 that I have.
I have the T4 flanged GT42 and now I know its a 74mm too, thanks for the info Harlan and Jose.

Kyle we have a large enough order of them from several places coming that looks like we will squeek one out for our native alabama boy pretty quick.
