Default boost gauge installation??????????

Does anyone knows how to install a 2 1/16 30/20 boost gauge? What is the best source to tap for the vacuum. I heard the brake booster, but I don't know where that is? If anyone has pics or instructions to install this, that would help me out tremendously. Any input would help!
Thanks alot
Jason

Yep, the brake booster hose in the back of the intake is a good source

Default gauge installation

This picture shows someone tapping it into the front of the manifold. Is this better than the brake booster? How do you get that piece out with those pins! Also is there any pic of the brake booster with the gauge hooked up to it?
Thanks alot

cool, I don't know how to post a pic. Anyway, how do I get to the back of the intake manifold without taking it out or the motor?

Here is a shot of where to tap into the brake booster.

And a shot of a home made fitting which has a 1/8 fitting for the gauge, and a tap for my bypass valve.

I drilled a hole just above the throttle cable where it goes through the fire wall. Much better than routing it all the way over to the pass side behinde the pcm, and back to the A piller where my gauges are located.

Are you redlightning as in S/C truck or an F bod? Turbo or S/C? if you are running a turbo you should have vac running to your wastegate and your BOV that you could tee off of.

Whatever you pick for a source be sure not to tighten the vac line fittings too tight or it will crush and mutilate the coller and the vac tube that go from the gage to the vac source. Also if you make a new hole through the firewall be sure to use a grommet or it will eventualy saw through the vac line from rubbing.

If you are using an electric gage then disregard

I have a 1999 Red T/A. I don't have a turbo, but next year I will get one. Does anyone know what the size of the brake booster hose. I think it is 5/8 but not sure?
Thanks Jason

isnt it rule of thumb not to run to many sources off of one vacume line? also, there is a difference where your vacuum source comes from. right now im running my wg from the turbo, and plan on hooking my bov and boost guage from a manifold/brake booster source.

Default gauge installation

I installed my boost gauge and it works really well to my brake booster. Is it normal to see my boost but all vac. It starts off at 20 vac and when I flow it, it barely hit 1 boost. Is this normal?????
Thanks

At idle it will be in vac, then should go to zero with very little rpm, then boost when it hits spool.

Curious, how did u plug ur guage into the brake booster? I'm trying to do the same, wondering if you used a plastic T or a metal like contraption that was posted above.

So, when you gonna start selling those? I want one with 2 lines (need one for the vacuum modulator).
