Default I'd like better cooling

Since the install of my MMS crank pulley, my temps have jumped from 165*-170* while cruising to 180*-190*. If I give it throttle and get into boost, temps jump to 190*+ for a few, then back to 185*. They'll never return below this until the car cools off after shutting it off. This is usually if the outside temps are above 75*. I'm running a Hypertech 160* thermostat and custom tuning through LS1 Edit for my fan to turn on at 172* and off at like 168*.

I was wondering if a better radiator and ATI fan will help knock these back down to pre-MMS temps. I'm running the stock radiator with a B&M 45,000 GWV tranny cooler, and the stock ATI single fan (the original style).

If I do upgrade the radiator, will the SLP unit work well? How about the newer style ATI single fan?

Can any sponsors give me a price outlook too?

Thanks

I thought the stock ATI fans was crap and alot of the guy were upgrading them with FAL 140's or a 240 setup. Not a 100% on that though

I run stock fans. So are your fans always on?

John, it's only the single. Once I start the car up, it stays around 165* until I start driving around in the 75*+ outside temps, then they hit the range in my first post.

From there, it stays on pretty constantly until highway speeds, which LS1 Edit has them turned off at 64mph.

Im looking into upgrading to radiator and fan setup to cool the car better and give me enough clearance for the F1R later on. I didnt find one until now.

I thought the MMS crank pulley bolted onto the stock balancer/pulley....which would not have any affect on cooling.

I had an SLP radiator with my powerdyne. I never had any cooling problems after putting it in, either. It will be another 1/2" or so closer to your blower, though, that would be the only issue.

WAHUSKER, the MMS pulley overdrives the supercharger, thus adding additional parasitic drain on the engine. This also makes the supercharger put out more while cruising, even if not in boost.

White_Hawk, I was looking into those. I'll have to measure the clearance now and see if it'll work. Thanks.

I wouldn't think the additional parasitic loss of power that the MMS pulley is creating is the root of your rising temperatures. Are the twin high flow intercoolers getting really hot? New for '05 from ATI ProCharger are 1" thicker twin high flow intercoolers, which might help to solve your problem.
What is your air/fuel ratio at part throttle cruising? This could be another source of your problems, since the car is seeing boost earlier in the rpm range. Bob

Hey whats up I'm new to the Forum....anyway I would like to tell you that the Becool radiator is one of the best mods I have ever made. That should give you enough reserve cooling to do anything. It is like 3X thicker than stock and fits right in
