well are you talkin about 1000hp crank or rwhp. do you want it on race fuel or pump gas, how much money do you have to spend?

are you using a 346 motor or larger?

you could prob get away with it with a 76gts or gt42 if you wanted a little room to grow, but expect lag unless its a bigger CI motor.

i know jose knows his **** with turbos, so im sure he can chime in.

Well I know of a 8 sec car with a Air to Air FMIC 1/3 as big as that...

I think Alan went a little Tim Allen when it came to FMIC sizing... He sure knows LS engines and F-bodies but all I do is turbo cars...

It will haul as but I would be seriously concerned about the radiators hampered capabilities.

Sorry no pics but Alan was working on it today, and looks like he got a few more things done to it since i saw it 2 sat. ago. Just be patient, I know its gotta be killing you to, but Alan is not one to just throw stuff together, eveything that he was doing on your car and other cars at the shop were top notch.

Yeah, I was thinking 1000crank. Is the 76gts huge like the gt42? Also, this would be on a 346 motor. Hope it doesnt take forever to spool. Would the phamspeed kit accomodate this turbo?

I hope you have a bigger budget then most people do..... because BIG HP cars do not last very long..... asking that much HP from a car all the time is asking alot...... be prepared for rebuilds...... a 1000HP is easy to say.... but not easy to do......

Ive said my .02.......

the gts is smaller i believe. but the important things are going to be the a/r ratios and compression wheel sizes and things like that. one will help build pressure while the other allows for more flow(at least i think)

so it all depends on how the setup is...

if your putting down 1000 at the crank you have to be prepared to go in there every so often and refresh your engine, depending on how hard you beat on it.
high HP cars are very high matenance, though still not as much as your typical female.

Exactly...... i just didnt specify like Smokin....... If you do Boost alot and often do be prepared to buy new rings and bearings to keep that motor fresh...... we didnt say new block or rods or pistons....... Give Allen a call and he will tell you the same.... its just part of owning a Big HP car..... kinda like changing the oil.., but on a higher scale.......

ya, that is understandable. I gues that would fall under maintenence...

still in the long run, its much cheaper then having a wife or gf.

on another note, i guess there was some miscommunication between my dad and candy.

looks to be another 2-4 weeks until it should be ready. Im gonna be patience and give him his space as he needs.

I just wish it was already a month down the road though.

It depends on alot of factors. Shorter stroke boosted engines stave off ring problems like flutter alot longer. Offset wrist pins and selecting forged pistons that the MFG says can run a bit tighter helps too... A vacuum pump does wonders on top of all that.. Vee have ways of making boosted engines last. 1,000 hp being produced by 408 cubes is'nt that hard on the engine.. Yes more so than 600. I put over 600 to the ground using 2.0 liters.... That is thru 1/2 as many connecting rods...

1. Cooling system.
2. Oiling system upgrades & cooler+ post break in synthetic use
3. Vacuum pump.
4. Gradual idling Cool downs from hot always.

There are tricks but that much HP from those cubes using top notch parts will hold up better than the naysayers think....
