Default Big boost guys inside please!

Most seem to think 15 psi is about as high as you can go and not have to worry about the heads lifting. I've heard of many people running with more than 17 psi (some a lot more) and I'm wondering what the proven method is now to keep the heads down with this crappy 4 bolt per cylinder design. I suspect poor fuel systems in the past have led to detonation which lifted the heads, but I think this has been mostly adderssed. With that said, what are you doing to keep it a glued together?

What head gaskets are you using?
HG thickness?
Which head studs?
What size studs are you using, does going to 1/2" help much?
What compression ratio?
What block?
Which heads?
Have your heads/block been O-ringed?
Any other tips?

I'm going to be building another engine soon and want to make sure I have it setup correctly for big boost. If you're uncomfortable posting your secrets, a PM would be VERY much appreciated!

Thanks!

Flatout Copper Gasket

ARP Studs
Stock size, havn't needed 1/2 yet
8.8:1
Iron
Patriot LS6
Stainless O-Ring in block, no receiver grooves in head

Put silicone around the water jackets if your going to use copper gaskets or you'll leak coolant

Good info guys (thanks), please keep it coming!

One other obvious thing, please list how much boost you're running.

Thanks again.

Stock everything, seen 16psi many times, 13 psi a whole lot and 10 psi every day.

I'm on a T76 now, 13-14 psi.

The amount of boost you run has nothing to do with lifting the heads, it's the amount of power you make and how much you detonate.
